On this page, you will find short descriptions and meaning on some of the most commonly used terms when trading in Forex. We hope this will help give you a better understanding and you can always refer back to this glossary for terminology that you don't understand.

Day Order - A buy or sell action that will automatically click in place at the end of the trading day.

Day Trade - The transactions and executions happening during the same trading day.

Day Trader - A trader who buys and sells base on the differentials in price movement within a short period...normally within a day.

Day Trading - Refers to all the different types of trades where there is an opening and closing position, all happening on the same day.

Dealer - An individual or firm that takes care of the transaction on the client's behalf, in the hope to earn a profit through the spread of the trade.

Deficit - Refers to a negative balance of money to execute a trade.

Delivery - A Forex transaction where both party give and take actual exchange of the currency.

Depreciation - A decline or fall in the price value of a currency.

Desk - Refers to a group that deals and handles specific currency trading.

Devaluation - The action taken by government to lower the external price value of their currency.

Direct Quote - Quotation base on the fixed units of an oversea currency against the variable value of the domestic dollars.
